A few links from my inbox

An eclectic list of links that I left in my inbox for too long:

Static Analysis Tools Article in Dr Dobbs

The main reason for me linking to the static analysis article is that there are a whole bunch of tools listed, and every so often I'll be asked by the development team if I know of any tools to check for 'X' and now I have a list courtesy of Dr Dobbs.

Learn Packet sniffing with Wireshark

Ethereal changed its name to WireShark a while back and Chris Sanders wrote a few articles on how to use it. I haven't had the time to follow up on them but I want to learn how to use these tools properly at some point as I think I will need to have these skills in the future.

Proceedings of Extreme Markup Languages

This might seem a little off topic for a Software Testing web site, but because I'm interested in XML, Concept Maps, Semantic Web, etc. I found a lot of these papers to be very interesting. There are archives for the conference going back 6 years. As a quick example I found this John L. Clark paper on visualising and modelling software documentation relationships to be thought provoking.

Open Clip Art Library Wiki List of SVG tools

Kind reader Jirka GeBu, sent this link through to me after reading of the way I converted a wmf to svg. Thank you Jirka for making this easier for me.

The very handy Tech Support Alert Email Newsletter had a link to 2 MS Excel addins that I have been finding useful.

Both are freeware and provide a lot of handy tools. I found ASAP Utilities convert selected region to html to be a particularly useful time saver recently.

I guess that will clear out my inbox a little and hopefully there is something in there useful or interesting for you.
